Twins: Worley rocked again at Triple-A

Vance Worley is having a really, really bad season.

He was optioned to Triple-A Rochester last month after posting a 1-5 record with a 7.21 earned-run average. Opponents were hitting an MLB-worst .381 against Worley.

On Tuesday, Worley started his fourth game for the Rochester Red Wings, and he got rocked.

He allowed 7 runs on 9 hits in just 5 2/3 innings. The right-hander has allowed 14 runs (9 earned) in his last two starts.

Despite Worley's rough season, Phillies manager Charlie Manuel believes his former pitcher can turn things around.

"He's better than what you've seen," Manuel tells the Pioneer Press. "His first year in the big leagues, he was good. Then, of course, he had arm trouble last year. I keep up with him. He'll get back. I guarantee he can pitch much better."
