Apple Valley native Tyus Jones can pencil his name into the lore of college basketball's most storied rivalry.

The freshman point guard led No. 4 Duke's rally to force overtime against No. 15 North Carolina on Wednesday night. Jones scored nine straight points in the final 83 seconds of regulation, including the game-tying layup with 29 seconds to play.

Duke went on to win in overtime, 92-90.

"He's got cold blood, he's got cold blood in his veins. It's amazing to watch," Duke guard Quinn Cook said of Jones, via the Duke Chronicle.

ESPN says Jones became the first Duke player in the history of the awesome rivalry to finish with 22 points, 7 rebound and 8 assists. The NCAA starting tracking assists in the 1983-84 season.

Jones was Minnesota's Mr. Basketball winner last year after guiding the Apple Valley Eagles to a Class 4A state championship.
