USA soccer pump-up video to get you ready for Ghana

Team USA makes its 2014 World Cup debut today against Ghana. How they fare will ultimately determine their chances of escaping the so called Group of Death.

The U.S., Ghana, Germany and Portugal make up perhaps the toughest group, and according to MLS Soccer, the U.S. will need at least three points to edge out Germany or Portugal for a spot in the round of 16.

U.S. Soccer released a great pump-up video to set the mood for today's game. Watch it right here.

For those that believe the U.S. simply isn't good enough to make a run this year, the New York Daily News says the excuses are getting old.

But really, enough is enough. The whole is supposed to be greater than the sum of the parts with the American side, always. The U.S. national team reached the quarterfinals 12 years ago in Korea, had a great chance to do the same thing again in South Africa. This is a South American World Cup, and there is no Argentina or Brazil in this Group of Death. That’s a good thing. The match will be refereed by a competent, relatively experienced Swedish referee, Jonas Eriksson, 40, who officiated at Euro 2012. Everybody seems to want a European ref, so there goes another excuse.

CBS Sports thinks the line is a bit finer, saying Group G will take notice if the U.S. beats Ghana. A loss, however, could signal a quick out.

The U.S. and Ghana begin play at 5 p.m. Central Time.
