Both met in the opening game of the season on April 1, a 4-2 Tigers victory, with Verlander getting the win.
That kicked off a stellar month for the Tigers' ace, as he's compiled a 2-2 record with a 1.95 ERA. He's allowed only seven earned runs in 32 1/3 innings across five starts, striking out 33 batters and allowing just 31 hits. In short, it's shaping up to be Verlander's best April ever.
As for Worley, he's been more effective lately, but the first month of 2013 has been rocky for the new Twin.
Since Opening Day, Worley has yet to win a ballgame, going 0-3 so far, with a 6.38 ERA. He's allowed 17 earned runs in 24 innings across five starts, striking out 16 batters and allowing 36 hits.
Worley's low point was getting hammered by the Mets on April 12 at Target Field, as he gave up seven early runs and saw his ERA balloon to 10.50.
But his last two starts have been solid against Chicago and Texas, giving up three runs in the past 12 innings.
