The Circle of Discipline in South Minneapolis isn't loaded with rich equipment. But it is loaded with rich history and a passion for boxing and keeping kids out of trouble.

The gym's motto is stapled on its website: "Providing leadership to disenfranchised youth and young adults in everything we do."

And the gym smells like a gym should – a place where work, detail and change takes place every day. And that goes for people of all ages and races. As Minnesota boxing champion Jamal James told BringMeTheNews, the gym doesn't discriminate.

"It's your closest cousins, it's your mother, it's your father – it's the life that you breathe," said Adonis Frazier, senior program advocate and national boxing coach. "Without it you can't exist."

Watch the video above to see people talk about the positive and personal impact the gym has had on their lives.
