Twins second baseman Brian Dozier has a big fan and his name is Brett Favre.

The 45-year-old ex-NFL gunslinger posted a video on Twitter to encourage fans to vote Dozier into the All-Star Game; Dozier is one of five candidates to be voted in by fans as the final member of this year's American League All-Star team.

It's unclear if Favre used a Selfie Stick to film the video. But we doubt it, because he doesn't seem like the type.

On Tuesday, Major League Baseball unveiled results after the first day of voting, and Dozier was in second place behind Kansas City third baseman Mike Moustakas. Boston Red Sox outfielder Yeonis Cespedes was in third place.

Voting totals were not made available. Voting ends on Friday.

According to 1500 ESPN, Favre attended the same college as Dozier before he made the jump to the NFL. Dozier played baseball at Southern Mississippi as a standout shortstop from 2006-09. Gulf Live notes that he can become the first player from the University of Southern Mississippi to go to the All-Star Game since 1962.
