Video: Lakeville South volleyball makes bid for SportsCenter Top 10

Lakeville South's volleyball team is hoping to climb into the SportsCenter Top 10, not just because they are a great team, but also for one of the greatest points in volleyball this season.

The Class 3A No. 3-ranked Cougars were in a battle with Apple Valley Thursday night when one of the most improbable of all volleyball plays occurred.

An attack from Lakeville junior Jenny Mosser was blocked by two Apple Valley defenders. Just when it looked like Apple Valley would get the point, the ball was kept off the floor by a pair of kick saves that would make Minnesota Wild goaltender Devan Dubnyk jealous.

Sophomore Cam Strong played it off her foot, the ball then was kicked by senior Allie Case. As the Eagles celebrated – what they thought was a point – Lakeville junior Halle Johnston finished the improbable play by hitting a one-handed diving pass over the net for the point.

Ok, so the description doesn't even begin to do it justice, watch the video starting at about the 45-second mark.

The play is already starting to gain some national attention. The Dan Patrick Show referred to it as an athletic "moment of greatness."

The Cougars went on to win the match 3-1.
