Vikings among 20 NFL teams that attend David Cobb's pro day

Gophers running back David Cobb held his pro day at the University of Minnesota Monday.

Scouts from about 20 NFL teams were on hand to watch Cobb run, catch and show his abilities.

Cobb is coming back from a leg injury that stopped him from participating in the NFL draft combine in February. During his first attempt at running the 40 at the combine in Indianapolis, Cobb pulled his quad muscle– shutting him down for the rest of the event.

The injury also caused him to miss the Gophers' pro day as well.

Cobb ran the 40 in 4.65 seconds Monday. Afterwards, he seemed happy with that performance.

"Biggest thing is that I was healthy, healthy again," Cobb said. "Coming out of the workout, you want to come out healthy. I was able to catch the ball, make good cuts, run a good 40 time and do good short shuttles."

According to 1500 ESPN, Vikings running backs coach Kirby Wilson and scout Steven Price were among those watching Cobb. The Vikings hosted Cobb for a pre-draft visit last week as the running back participated in the team's Top 30 event.

Cobb started getting attention from the NFL during his junior season, but really solidified himself as an NFL prospect while rushing for a school-record of 1.626 yards last season.

In addition to the Vikings, Arizona, Houston, Baltimore, Kansas City, Detroit, Atlanta, Seattle, Jacksonville, San Diego, Tampa Bay, Buffalo, Oakland, Carolina and New England were also in attendance to watch Cobb.
