Vikings draft 6 players in final day of the NFL Draft

The Minnesota Vikings wrapped up the final day of the NFL Draft by adding six players.

Willie Beavers, OL

• Drafted in the 4th round (No. 121) from Western Michigan University.
• Beavers played mostly left-tackle in college but in an interview with Sirius XM radio, Mike Zimmer said Beavers will spend this season at guard.

Kentrell Brothers, LB

• Drafted in the 6th round (No. 160) from the University of Missouri.
• Brothers made 155 tackles last season and according to Andrew Kramer of 1500-ESPN he will add some value on special teams.

Moritz Boehringer, WR

• Drafted in the 6th round (No. 180) from Germany.
• Boehringer has only been playing football for five years. He started playing after watching Adrian Peterson videos on YouTube.
• He is also the first player to ever be drafted straight from Germany.

David Morgan, TE

• Drafted in the 7th round (No. 188) from the University of Texas-San Antonio.
• Minnesota traded with Miami for the second time this weekend to acquire Morgan.
• He's the first player to be taken from UTSA.

Stephen Weatherly, LB/DE

• Drafted in 7th round (No. 227) from Vanderbilt University.
• Weatherly played mostly linebacker in college but the Vikings listed him as a defensive end. Chris Tomasson reports that Weatherly can contribute to special teams too.

Jayron Kearse, S

• Drafted in the 7th round (No. 244) from Clemson University.
• Kearse is the second player the Vikings have drafted from Clemson this weekend.

All-in-all the Vikings drafted eight players over the weekend: four on offense and four on defense.
