Former Vikings fullback Bill "Boom Boom" Brown passed away at the age of 80 on Sunday, the Vikings announced.

Brown was a second-round pick by the Bears in 1961 and arrived in Minnesota a year later in a trade. He played for the Vikings from 1962-1974 and still owns the team record for rushing attempts (1,627) and is third in team history with 5,757 career rushing yards.

His 52 rushing touchdowns is tied with Chuck Foreman and trails only Adrian Peterson among Vikings running backs.

Brown played in all four Vikings Super Bowl appearances (1964, '65, '67, '68).

He was inducted into the Vikings Ring of Honor on September 26, 2004.
