The worst fears for cornerback Mike Hughes have been confirmed as the team announced that he'll miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL.

Hughes was injured during Minnesota's 27-17 win over the Cardinals on Sunday.

The rookie first-round draft choice was playing a key role in the Vikings' secondary. Now that he's out the Vikings will likely turn to Mackenzie Alexander to serve as the top nickel cornerback on the team.

Xavier Rhodes and Trae Waynes remain the top two outside cornerbacks on the depth chart.
