The Minnesota Vikings made several roster moves on Saturday in order to get down to their 53-man roster for the 2020 season. Although this season didn't have the suspense thanks to the cancellation of the preseason, there were several notable moves in the leadup to the 3 p.m. CT deadline.

One of the surprising names on the block was wide receiver Alexander Hollins. As one of the favorites to be named "Mr. Mankato" for this year's training camp, Hollins continued the momentum off his Week 17 performance and even earning a fourth-quarter deep target in the playoff win against the New Orleans Saints.

While Hollins wasn't expected to be a major part of the roster, it's still surprising considering the Vikings opted to keep UDFA receiver Dan Chisnea, who was momentarily converted to safety last week before being switched back to receiver.

The other notable name on the list was backup center Brett Jones, who was expected to be depth for the interior offensive line. The unit as a whole saw several releases including Aviante Collins and a pair of draft picks including sixth-rounder Blake Brandel and seventh-rounder Kyle Hinton.

Here is the list in alphabetical order of the Vikings cuts on Saturday:

  • FB Jake Bargas
  • T Blake Brandel
  • QB Jake Browning
  • CB Nevelle Clarke
  • G Aviante Collins
  • WR Quartney Davis
  • TE Brandon Dillon
  • S Myles Dorn
  • CB Mark Fields II
  • TE Nakia Griffin-Stewart

  • CB Nate Meadors
  • S Josh Metellus

  • DT David Moa
