The Minnesota Vikings have added another quarterback to the roster. The Vikings signed former Northwestern quarterback Mike Kafka on Wednesday.

The news was announced by Kafka's agent on Wednesday and Kafka himself offered this tweet.

The 27-year-old Kafka spent last season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he was originally a fourth round pick of the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2010 NFL Draft.

He is the second quarterback the Vikings have signed during free agency. Minnesota also signed former Rams quarterback Shaun Hill to serve as Teddy Bridgewater's primary backup.

According to 1500 ESPN, Kafka was one of 100 or so players the Vikings watched during the inaugural NFL veteran scouting combine in Arizona, last month.

Kafka doesn't have a lot of NFL playing experience, he played in four games for the Eagles in 2011, completing 11 of 16 passes for 107 yards and two interceptions.

His most significant playing time at Northwestern came in 2009, when Kafka thew for 3,430 yards and 16 touchdowns.
