So where is free agent tight end John Carlson? The 5-million-dollar man -- who missed the preseason with a sprained knee -- has yet to catch a pass in two Vikings games, but head coach Leslie Frazier told reporters yesterday that "we do expect him to be a contributor as we go forward"

He also said Carlson "has the potential to be a really explosive player for us."

While that may be true, KFAN.com's A.J. Mansour writes that with San Francisco coming to town Sunday, trying to adjust the offense might be a little tougher this week.

Bottom line? It comes from the Vikings Age blog: "Christian Ponder needs all the help he can get."
