Vonn, Woods the new No. 1 sports power couple?

The Lindsey Vonn-Tiger Woods pairing has revived interest in sports power couples, the Washington Post reports. The Post lists numerous others, including one other coupling with a prominent Minnesota athlete (Hint: his name rhymes with blonder. And squander).

If you are making a case for best sports power couple, Forbes notes that Minnesota-native Vonn and Woods are arguably the best in the world in their sports. And they have other things in common: Both suffered bad knee injuries. Both are divorced.

Forbes runs the numbers on the couple: Woods is No. 3 on Forbes' list of highest-paid athletes ($59 million last year) vs. Vonn who made just $3 million.

Vonn and Woods last week announced on Facebook that they were dating. Vonn told a friend that she has talked to Woods about his womanizing past and that she is "not freaked out" about it, People magazine reported.

Cynical observers say that the Vonn-Woods pairing smells like a publicity stunt, FOX News reported.

Maybe so, but USA Today reports they've already got a celebrity nickname: Liger.
