Watch: Duluth player lays the smackdown on North Dakota goaltender

The University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs and the University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks are playing in the NCHC Frozen Faceoff championship game at the Target Center.

Midway through the first period, Bulldogs defenseman Neal Pionk pulled a nifty move while driving towards the North Dakota net and proceeded to lay the boom on goaltender Cam Johnson.

Pionk wasn't ejected but he did receive a five-minute major penalty.
