There weren't many highlights as the Twins dropped the first game of their doubleheader with the Houston Astros 15-7 at Target Field Thursday afternoon.

But everyone loves to watch a position player pitch during a Major League Baseball game. The fans came alive for a few brief moments late as shortstop Eduardo Escobar made his pitching debut for Minnesota.

As the Twins trailed 15-6 in the ninth inning, manager Paul Molitor lifted reliever Taylor Rodgers in favor of Escobar with no one out in the ninth.

Escobar responded with an impressive performance, retiring the Astros 1-2-3. Here was how it went down.
