Monday night's coverage of the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang are live on NBC, so despite the 15-hour time difference, Americans were treated to an unbelievable display in the halfpipe by snowboard Chloe Kim.

The 17-year-old led Team USA to the gold medal and she earned the high score on her first of three runs with a crazy-high 93.75 score.

UPDATE: Kim had already locked up gold before her third and final run, but she took it anyway and scored even better with an eye-popping 98.25.

Her first gold medal in her first olympic competition was extra special because she did it in the country her parents are from: South Korea. Kim, however, was born and raised in California.

Making Kim's olympic debut even more legendary was that she tweeted during the event that she could really go for some ice cream.
