Watch: J.P. Parise video tribute from the Wild
Thursday was a sad day as the State of Hockey, along with the rest of the hockey world, mourned the loss of longtime Minnesota North Star J.P. Parise.
Parise passed away Wednesday night after a nearly one-year fight against Stage 4 lung cancer. He was a fan favorite as a player and he offered his talented bloodline to his son, Zach Parise, who is undoubtedly the most popular player for the Minnesota Wild. Zach didn't play in Minnesota's hard-fought loss to Chicago Thursday night.
An outpouring of support, which you can see a sample of below, filled Twitter feeds all day Thursday. The Wild did its best to say "thanks" with a video tribute to J.P.
