Gonzaga guard and Minnesota native Jalen Suggs nailed a 3-pointer at the buzzer to help the Bulldogs get past UCLA 93-90 on Saturday night.
Suggs has been a star for Gonzaga during an undefeated season but the Bulldogs had trouble with the 11-seeded Bruins. After UCLA hung with Gonzaga throughout a first overtime, they appeared to be headed to a second after Johnny Juzang tied the game at 90 with a layup with 3.3 seconds left.
With time running down, Suggs lived a scene that every kid has played out in their driveway. Suggs got the ball, made his way down the court and heaved a 3-pointer off the backboard to send Gonzaga to the national championship.
Suggs' 3-pointer will be a fixture of March Madness highlight videos until the end of time but also sent Gonzaga to their second national championship game in program history and first since 2016. The 31-0 Bulldogs will face Baylor (27-2) on Monday night for the national title.
