Minnesota Twins 15

Texas Rangers 5

The Twins impressed fans with their 3-1 series win over the Rangers this week. They also beat Texas in a previous series this season 2-1 at home.

The wins were a suprise considering the Rangers are in first place in their division and the Twins are in last. MN has a record of 32-56 while Texas stands at 54-36.

1. Big bat Kepler

German rookie Max Kepler is turning out to be one of the bigger hitters on the Twins' roster. He hit the team's first grand slam of the season on Sunday in the fifth inning. Those runs gave them a 6-0 lead over Texas. Kepler has had 5 home runs and 18 RBI's in his last 15 games. He ranks third in RBIs among rookies in the American League, says the Pioneer Press.

Fans are pretty excited about him:

2. More big hitters

Kepler isn't the only one that had a good day at the plate on Sunday.

Kennys Vargas, Eduardo Esocbar and Brian Dozier all drove the ball over the fence too.

Even if you're not counting those home runs, the Twins batted well on Sunday with 14 other hits.

3. Expecting father pitches good game

Left hander Tommy Milone didn't allow a single hit until the fifth inning on Sunday. That's when the Rangers scored two runs, the only two while Milone was at the mound.

His wife Tina is expecting a baby girl on Friday. The couple plans to name her Mia Jean, according to the Pioneer Press.

Ervin Santana (3-7) will pitch for the Twins against Carlos Carrasco (5-2).
