Watch: Let's hope Minnesota's basketball tourney ends like North Dakota's
North Dakota doesn't have the individual star power of Minnesota high school basketball, but Minnesota is going to have a tough time topping the incredible finish of North Dakota's Class B state championship game.
Hillsboro-Central Valley and defending state champ Four Winds-Minnewaukan were tied 60-60 until Kyle Henningsgard buried a corner 3-pointer at the buzzer to give Hillsboro-Central Valley a dramatic win.
The North Dakota High School Athletics Association called it the "one of the greatest championship games in B history."
The play-by-play of Kevin Kochmann on KRJB-FM (Ada, Minnesota) coupled with video (from Mike Mason's iPhone) of the final 90 seconds is a rush. The best part is the mass of fans rushing the court immediately after Henningsgard's shot goes in.
This is pretty cool. Mike Mason who was in the booth next to me in Minot at the ND State B Boys tournament, took the video and mixed the audio from the broadcast on KRJB 106.5FM and the result is pretty cool! Should also give credit to Ryan McCollum for his work in studio producing the LIVE radio broadcast as well. As they say, it takes a village.
