You know that Homer Simpson GIF where he slowly fades back into the bushes?
That's probably close to how Max Kepler feels after he spent a couple of precious seconds admiring what he thought was a no-doubt-about-it home run only to watch it hit off the top of the wall at Target Field on Monday night.
Kepler has some pop, but as a guy who has yet to hit 20 homers in a season, he might want to rethink tossing his bat and staring down a long ball until he's REALLY sure it's gone.
Kepler clearly thinks he hit the ball out of the park, even putting his head down and starting a home run trot down the first-base line before realizing it wasn't gone.
Kepler wound up with at second base with a two-run double to tie the game 2-2 in the fifth inning, but he was thrown out at home plate on Eduardo Escobar's single in the next at-bat.
Had he sprinted out of the box he might've been able to leg out a triple and score the go-ahead run with ease, but that didn't happen.
