Mitch Garver, the Twins' top catching prospect at Triple-A Rochester, pulled a rabbit out of his mask on Wednesday.
As a runner went to tag up on a fly out to the outfield, Garver stood in front of home plate as if he wasn't going to attempt to tag the runner out – like there wasn't going to be a play at the plate. Instead, he nonchalantly stabbed the ball out of the air and applied a quick tag on Brock Stassi of Leigh Valley for the out.
Check out the tomfoolery below.
You have to give kudos to Red Wings left fielder Daniel Palka, too. He thought he airmailed the throw, but his catcher was one step ahead of him.
Garver is lighting it up at Triple-A this season. He has 15 home runs and 22 doubles while also playing superb defense from behind the plate.
With the 26-year-old backstop already on the Minnesota's 40-man roster, he could be part of the team's September call-ups next month.
