Minnesota Gophers wrestler Gable Steveson will go for the gold at the 2020 Olympics but it appears he will have more than just the state of Minnesota pulling for him.
Steveson posted a video from WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair on Monday where the 16-time World Heavyweight Champion wished the Steveson and Team USA good luck in Tokyo.
"You're coming back with a gold medal," Flair shouted. "Coming to the WWE looking as only you can look. Next time I see you, you'll be limousine ridin' and jet flyin' Gable Steveson! Olympic gold medalist, heavyweight champion of the world!"
"Bring it my friend. We'll all be watching. To you and your Olympic teammates, go USA! Go Gable Steveson, my man! Remember, Gable, to be the man, wooooo! You got to beat the man! And right now you are the man! Wooooooo!"
Flair is the latest WWE connection that Steveson has had since winning the NCAA heavyweight championship in March. Steveson was everywhere over WrestleMania weekend and has been considering a career with the company after the Olympics.
While Steveson mentioned becoming a WWE Superstar has been "a lifelong dream," the former Apple Valley native will be looking to take home a gold medal in the heavyweight division in the coming weeks.
