A story we published on Monday entitled "So, Philadelphia Eagles fans are awful" seems to have come to the attention of some Eagles fans who have let it be known they are unhappy with us.

It follows videos being shared of Eagles fans insulting, threatening and throwing stuff at Minnesota fans who made the trip east for the Vikings ultimately resounding defeat in the NFC Championship game.

"You must be so proud of yourselves for the negativity you are shading towards Philly," one Eagles fan wrote to us via Facebook. "Nothing like making sure there will be problems before there are even problems when fans get there. Pat yourselves on the back."

Another was good enough to share this video of a polite Vikings fan leaving the stadium and in a friendly, trademark Minnesota manner, offering to shake the hands of Eagles fans.

All joking aside, these Philly-based readers are not wrong, we did generalize about Eagles fans, painting the actions of the few as indicative of the whole.

So consider this our correction.

We asked Vikings fans to share their positive stories about Eagles fans, here's what they said:

Nonetheless, here's a concession since you're coming to the Twin Cities, Philadelphia Eagles fans: We're sorry we tarred you all with the same brush as obviously not every fan acts this way.

Every fanbase has its rogue element, though your bad fans seem to be absolutely appalling. (For more, check out this first-hand experience at the Brian and Beyond blog titled "Irredeemable Hellscape").

But there are some good ones out there, like this Eagles fan based in Minneapolis who has started a GoFundMe to raise money for the Underdog Rescue pet rehabilitation organization based in St. Louis Park – you can check it out and donate to it here.

If any more of you had positive experiences at the Philly game on Sunday – except for the result – let us know and we'll post them below.
