It's been more than a year since Tiger Woods last played in a PGA Tour event, but his comeback – possibly beginning next week at the Safeway Open – could be one for the ages. That's what fellow golfer Jesper Parnevik said in an interview with Golf Digest.

"I see Tiger at the Medalist. We talk and have played nine holes together," Parnevik told Golf Digest. "By the way, he's been hitting a lot of balls, and he's hitting it great. He's pounding it a mile and flushing everything. On the range, at least, his trajectory and ball flight are like the Tiger we knew 15 years ago. Comebacks are never a sure thing, but something tells me his might be spectacular."

Can you imagine Tiger making a phenomenal comeback at 40 years old, competing with the likes of Jason Day, Dustin Johnson, Jordan Spieth, Rickie Fowler, Rory Mcllroy and, of course, Phil Mickelson?

CBS Sports golf reporter Kyle Porter walked with Woods during the Ryder Cup at Hazeltine, where Woods as the U.S. team's vice captain, and he thought Woods looked healthy and spry.

The Safeway Open is in Napa, California, and according to the San Francisco Chronicle, Woods will play in the event barring any setbacks to back injuries that have kept him out of competition for 14 months.
