We thought it was over, but Ricky Rubio is teaching us Spanish again

To quote New Jersey Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov when the east coast team acquired Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Jason Terry this offseason from Boston, "today, the basketball gods smiled."

While things haven't worked out particularly well for Prokhorov or the Nets since that trade, things are really rounding into form well for a segment we thought may be over.

After not tweeting anything our Spanish translator we pay specifically for this segment could interpret in the past month, Wolves point guard Ricky Rubio is back with a vengeance to make us bi-lingual once again.

Truly friends, the basketball gods have smiled upon us.

TRANSLATION: "We know where we started. Granada see you soon."

That tweet was from Ricky's Spanish national team backcourt mate Jose Calderon, who currently plays for the playoff-contending Dallas Mavericks.

The native of Spain tweets a picturesque scene in Granada, a town of over 200,000 in Spain.

Rubio retweeted the Mavericks point guard's wistful words, ones that foreshadow the 2014 FIBA World Championships in Spain.

Oh Ricky. Your love for country and basketball truly endears you to us, and while we're not crazy about looking ahead to the summer rather than focusing on the task at hand of turning around a floundering Wolves club, we could never stay mad at you.

But for the love of the basketball gods that have smiled upon us today, please shoot better.
