Maya Moore scored 26 points and Renee Montgomery added 18 points as the Minnesota Lynx put a close on the regular season with a 86-72 home win over the Washington Mystics on Sunday.

Montgomery has been the starting point guard since Lindsay Whalen broke her hand on Aug. 3. The Lynx struggled without Whalen, going 7-5 in the 12 games she missed, but Sunday's game was the last game she'll miss barring a setback.

According to the Star Tribune, Whalen will return to practice on Wednesday and start at point guard when the Lynx open the playoffs a week from Tuesday.

Minnesota finished the regular season with the best record (27-7) in the WNBA – one game better than the Los Angeles Sparks – and receives a bye all the way to the WNBA semifinals where they'll play the lowest remaining seed in a best-of-five series.

The double bye means the Lynx won't play again until Tuesday, Sept. 12.

The Lynx say Game 1 of their semifinal series will be televised on ESPN2.

All Lynx home playoff games will be played at Williams Arena in Minneapolis.
