Why the Vikings are a matchup nightmare for the Browns

It'll be really disappointing if the Vikings don't win easy on Sunday.

The Browns are 0-7 for plenty of reasons, and they'll likely be 0-8 after Sunday's game in London against the Vikings. Here are some reasons why.

1. Browns quarterback DeShone Kizer has the highest interception percentage in the NFL. According to ESPN, the he's thrown an interception on 6.1 percent of his throws, which is far and away the worst in the NFL.

2. This will be the first time Cleveland's played a game without Joe Thomas at left tackle since he was drafted third overall in 2007. The man literally played 10,363 consecutive snaps until suffering a torn triceps last week against the Titans.

Thomas will be replaced by second-year lineman Spencer Drango, whom Cleveland reportedly prefers as a guard. Drango will be matched up with Everson Griffen, who's third in the NFL with 9 sacks. Good luck with that.

3. The Browns simply can't match up with the Vikings defense.

Let's simplify how this game is going to play out a little more with the help of bullet points.

  • The Browns have no running game.
  • The Vikings are next to impossible to run against.
  • If the Browns can't run, how will they pass?
  • They won't because Minnesota's pass rush will be all over Kizer.
  • So even though Cleveland has a decent defense, they're allowing almost 25 points a game because opposing offenses are routinely playing on a short field.

Some weird things have happened in London, but Cleveland upsetting Minnesota is highly unlikely.
