Wild beats Florida in shootout, 3-2

Kyle Brodziak and Matt Cullen scored regulation goals for the Wild, and Erik Christensen and Cullen scored in the shootout to give the Wild a 3-2 win over the Florida Panthers. Niklas Backstrom made 41 saves, including both Florida attempts in the shootout.

Kyle Brodziak and Matt Cullen scored regulation goals for the Wild, and Erik Christensen and Cullen scored in the shootout to give the Wild a 3-2 win over the Florida Panthers.

Niklas Backstrom, who has struggled in shootouts, stopped both Florida shots he faced. Overall, he stopped 41 of 43 shots. It's a nice encore to his 48 save shutout over the defending Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins on Sunday.

Minnesota has won two straight.

The Wild is 24-4-3 when allowing two goals or fewer this season.

Stars beat Wild in shootout

Minnesota's Kyle Brodziak scored a third-period breakaway goal against the Stars to force overtime Saturday night in Dallas. Niklas Backstrom had 33 saves through overtime, but was beaten twice in the shootout to give the Stars (27-22-2) their 2-1 victory. The Wild (25-19-8) will wrap up their three-game road trip on Tuesday in Columbus.

Wild beats Blackhawks in shootout, 2-1

Cal Clutterbuck tied the game at one with a goal late in the third period and Devin Setoguchi scored the shootout winner as the Wild beat the Blackhawks, 2-1 at Xcel Energy Center Thursday night. Minnesota has played a franchise record five consecutive overtime games -- four of which they've won.

The Wild trailed 2-0 midway through the second period before Devin Setoguchi cut the lead to one and Kyle Brodziak tied the game with a power play goal. The game went to a shootout and Brodziak gave the Wild a 3-2 win in the sixth round of the shootout.

The Minnesota Wild went to its fourth straight overtime game Thursday night, but lost in a shootout, 2-1 in Nashville. Dany Heatley scored his team-leading 23rd goal for the Wild. Just two games remain, the Wild hosts Chicago Thursday and Phoenix on Saturday.
