Three goals in the second period lifted the Wild to a come-from-behind win over the Red Wings, 3-2 Sunday night in St. Paul.

Detroit led 1-0 after the first period and 2-0 after Pavel Datsyuk's wrist shot found the top-right corner of the net just 20 seconds into the second period.

Veteran forward Dany Heatley made it a 2-1 game at the 9:35 mark of the second. It snapped a streak of nine games without a goal for Heatley.

A few minutes later Jason Zucker, playing in his first game with the Wild this season, scored his first career NHL goal. 32 seconds later Torrey Mitchell scored his first goal of the season -- a goal that proved to be the game-winner.

Niklas Backstrom was scratched from the start just before the game because of the flu. Rookie Darcy Kuemper took his place and earned his first career NHL win. He saved 29-of-31 shots on goal.

Minnesota (7-7-1) is off until Thursday when they play at the Edmonton Oilers.
