The Minnesota Wild returned from the three-week Olympic break with a victory Thursday night over the Edmonton Oilers 3-0, in Edmonton.
It was the third straight win and their 13th victory in their last 15 visits to Edmonton, according to the Star Tribune.
Minnesota picked up a goal in each period on their way to the victory. The win gives the Wild two points as they up their total to 71 points.
Stephane Veilleux made it 2-0 in favor of the Wild, playing in his first game since being recalled from the Iowa Wild on the AHL. Dany Heatley pushed the lead to 3-0 on his 12th goal of the season. Charlie Coyle and Nino Niederreiter assisted.
Coach Mike Yeo decided to go with Darcy Kuemper in net on Thursday in Edmonton. The move paid off, Kuemper played well getting the shutout win, he finished with 19 saves.
The Wild head to Vancouver on Friday.
