Wild lose 3-2 in OT against Detroit
The Minnesota Wild got out to a 2-0 lead early in the 2nd period, but couldn't hold on against a dominant Detroit first line.
Wild forward Matt Cullen was called for tripping midway through the OT session, which was all the room the Red Wings needed as Detroit's Johan Franzen netted an OT winner off a rebound up front.
Saturday was Wild goalie Josh Harding's first start in more than a year. Despite a good effort between the pipes by Harding, Detroit never let up and eventually ground out a win.
The Wild will be in action at Xcel Energy on Tuesday, hosting the Pittsburgh Penguins at 7:30 p.m.
