It wasn't an NHL record, the Wild and Ducks entertained a sellout crowd at Xcel Energy Center Saturday afternoon with an 11-round shootout.

Unfortunately, the Ducks won the shootout and the game, 3-2.

Tied 2-2 after overtime, the Ducks scored on their first shootout attempt and the Wild were 0-for-2 until Zach Parise went five-hole to keep Minnesota alive.

Here's how the final seven rounds unfolded.

  • Round 4: Nino Niederreiter scores, Ondrej Case scores
  • Round 5: Jason Zucker misses, Henrique misses
  • Round 6: Eric Staal misses, Cam Fowler stopped
  • Round 7: Mikael Granlund stopped, Jakup Silfverberg stopped
  • Round 8: Charlie Coyle stopped, Brandon Mountour stopped
  • Round 9: Matt Cullen stopped, Derek Grant loses puck
  • Round 10: Jared Spurgeon stopped, Antoine Vermette loses puck
  • Round 11: Matt Dumba stopped, Nick Ritchie scores

The longest shootout in NHL history is 20 rounds, which former Gopher Nick Bjugstad scored the winning goal for the Florida Panthers back in 2014.

The Wild went 2-12 on their five-game home stand. Up next, they head to New York to face the Islanders on Monday.
