Wild put Nystrom on waivers

The Minnesota Wild are saying so long to veteran center Eric Nystrom. He was put on waivers today. If another team doesn't claim him -- he'll be sent to Minnesota's minor league affiliate in Houston. Nystrom has two years left on his contract at $1.4 million per year.

Minnesota Wild forward Eric Nystrom cleared waivers Friday and is on his way to Houston to play with the Wild's minor league affiliate. Nystrom will be ready to play in the Aero's season opener Sunday against the Chicago Wolves.
