Wild score 3 power play goals in win over Coyotes
The Minnesota Wild scored three power play goals as they defeated the Arizona Coyotes 5-2 on Wednesday afternoon.
The Wild began the game with an excellent passing display that helped Mats Zuccarello find the net early. With his seventh goal of the season, Zuccarello's power-play marker sent the Wild into the first intermission with a 1-0 lead.
Jakob Chychrun tied the game for Arizona with a power-play goal in the second period but the Wild took the lead back with Zach Parise's fifth goal of the season.
Parise's goal was the first of four unanswered for the Wild, who got another power play goal from Nick Bonino. His fifth of the season helped the Wild pull ahead 3-1 going into the second intermission.
Zuccarello added his second power play goal of the game to start the third period to put Minnesota ahead 4-1.
Jared Spurgeon capped off the Wild's scoring with his fifth goal of the season to give the Wild a 5-1 lead. Although Phil Kessell scored his 16th goal of the season, it was too late as the Wild cruised to victory.
The Wild improved to 25-13-3 with the win and will host the San Jose Sharks on Friday night.
