The Minnesota Wild scored four goals in the first period en route to a 7-2 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning Saturday night at the Xcel Energy Center.

Jason Zucker had two goals, and Zach Parise and Marco Scandella both had a goal and an assist, the Associated Press reports.

Minnesota's four first-period goals tied a franchise record. They added two more in the second period and another in the third to improve to 4-2-0 overall, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Tampa Bay's goalie Evgeni Nobokov was pulled at 17:15, after he gave up the fourth of those first-period goals. He was replaced by Ben Bishop, who gave up three more scores in the rest of the game.

Mikko Koviu, Erik Haula and Jared Spurgeon also scored goals for the Wild, who are 3-0-0 at Xcel so far this season.

Parise and Spurgeon scored in the second period to give Minnesota a 6-1 lead, and Zucker's second goal – shorthanded – came in the third, according to the Associated Press.

Thirteen Wild players had at least one point in the game.

Goalie Darcy Kuemper got his fourth win of the season. He gave up one goal, his first allowed at home so far this season.

Keith Ballard and Christian Folin of the Wild both sat out their second straight game due to flu-like symptoms, the AP notes.
