Wild stay hot, beat Buffalo 2-1

The Wild, as outrageously amazing announcer Doc Emrick said pregame, were hot coming into tonight.

Monday did nothing to change that, as Josh Harding was once again solid in goal stopping 22 Buffalo shots and Jason Pominville scored the game-winning goal in his first game back in Buffalo, a 2-1 Wild win.

Harding, who is still filling in for the injured Niklas Backstrom, has led Minnesota to three consecutive victories, while also playing valiantly after Backstrom allowed two goals last Tuesday against Nashville before leaving with an injury.

Pominville, who spent the first 10 seasons of his career in Buffalo, made the Sabres pay for trading him last season to Minnesota, scoring with just 10 seconds remaining in the second period.

With the goal, Pominville has now scored against all 30 NHL teams.

The Wild got their first goal 5:23 into the first period, Kyle Brodziak from Matt Cooke and Jonas Brodin, who now has five points on the season, second on the team, and a three-game point streak, the longest of his career.

Minnesota is back to work tomorrow in Toronto at 6 p.m. against the Maple Leafs.
