Wild trade ex-Gopher Mike Reilly at the deadline
Minnesota Wild defenseman Mike Reilly was traded to the Montreal Canadiens right before Monday's 2 p.m. NHL trade deadline.
In exchange, the Wild receive a 2019 fifth-round draft pick from Montreal.
Wild general manager Chuck Fletcher said the trade will finally give Reilly a chance for significant playing time, something he wasn't getting here in Minnesota.
The Reilly trade, coupled with Sunday's release of veteran forward Chris Stewart, who was claimed by Calgary Monday, leaves two open roster spots.
