Poor starts are hurting the Wild

Forward Dany Heatley says "it's natural" for a young team to struggle to score goals, but every player needs to remember the Wild has "come back in a lot of games this year."

Wild place Koivu on IR, recall Taffe
The Minnesota Wild has placed captain Mikko Koivu on injured reserve. Koivu injured his leg in the Wild's shootout loss to the Blackhawks last week. The move is retroactive to Wednesday, so he can be activated at any time if he feels he can play. The team recalled forward Jeff Taffe to fill Koivu's roster spot.
