The Minnesota Wild are likely anxiously awaiting word on the severity of the knee injury 2014 first-round pick Alex Tuch suffered Monday night.

According to the NHL's official website, Tuch injured his knee while playing in an exhibition game at the USA Hockey National Junior Evaluation Camp. The camp is being held in Lake Placid, New York.

Tuch will be evaluated by doctors Tuesday to determine if he can continue participating at the camp, where he's competing for a roster spot on Team USA's 2016 World Junior Championship team, FOX Sports reports.

"We've been challenging Alex to be a more intimidating in-your-face player," U.S. coach Ron Wilson said, per FOX Sports. "He got hurt on his second shift and had to leave the game. We could have used him when it was getting out of control out there."

Minnesota drafted Tuch with the 18th pick in the 2014 draft. According to Yahoo Sports, Tuch sees himself as a Charlie Coyle-type player.

At the Wild's developmental camp last month Tuch showcased the flare he has for the game with a filthy shootout goal.
