The "Ice Bucket Challenge" has made its way to Minnesota's professional sports scene. Specifically, Minnesota Wild star Zach Parise and Minnesota Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen are involved.

The “Ice Bucket Challenge” was started by Peter and Julie Frates, a Massachusetts couple with a goal of raising awareness about ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), better known as Lou Gherig's Disease.

The challenge is simple. After being challenged, a person has 24 hours to dump a bucket of ice water over their head or donate $100 to the ALS charity of their choice. After completing the challenge, you can challenge three more people.

Parise, as reported by the Star Tribune, took the challenge from Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Paul Martin and Wild forward Stephane Veilleux. Here's the video Parise sent to Michael Russo.

Parise then challenged three more NHL players – Travis Zajac, Kyle Okposo and Justin Faulk.

Meanwhile, Griffen helped Sports Illustrated's Peter King, who was covering the Vikings in Mankato last week, take the challenge. King then challenged Griffen, ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network Sports reporter Alex Flanagan.
