Wild's Ryan Suter not pleased about defensive pairing shuffle

Minnesota Wild defenseman Ryan Suter didn't mince any words on Monday. He is not happy about being reunited with Jonas Brodin as a possible defensive pairing for the Wild's Tuesday night game at Chicago.

With the return of Marco Scandella from injured reserve, Wild coach Mike Yeo took the opportunity to mix up the defensive pairings and separated Suter from Jared Spurgeon, whom he has been skating with this year.

The move pairs Suter with Brodin – a pair of left shot defenders, and left Suter openly wondering what the coaches are thinking with the move.

Once the cameras were off, according to the Star Tribune's Michael Russo, Suter made it clear that he'll do whatever it takes to help the team win.

One reason for the move might be to help Brodin, who has been struggling this year. SB Nation notes that without Suter playing alongside of him Brodin has posted a 45.0 Corsi For percentage.

The move by Wild coach Mike Yeo could be an attempt to spark something along the blue line for Minnesota.

The Wild are 20th in the league, giving up 2.77 goals against per game, and Minnesota has dropped six of their last seven games.
