Twins: Willingham needs surgery on knee, out 4-6 weeks
Twins slugger Josh Willingham will miss 4-6 weeks after being placed on the 15-day disabled list with a torn meniscus in his left knee.
Aaron Hicks has been reactivated to take his spot on the roster.
Hicks has been on the disabled list since June 10 with a strained left hamstring.
Willingham was scratched from the lineup before Monday's game against the Yankees at Target Field.
He cited "increased discomfort" in his left knee as the reason he couldn't play, according to the Pioneer Press.
Willingham's knee has given him problems much of the season, and he tweaked it after hitting a double in Sunday's game against the Royals.
