Winning streak snapped in Winnipeg, but Wild escape with a point

Dustin Byfuglien's breakaway goal in overtime was the difference maker as the Winnipeg Jets snapped the Wild's six-game winning streak on Tuesday night 2-1.

Despite the loss, the Wild still escape Winnipeg with a point, after forcing overtime.

After grinding through a scoreless tie through the first two periods, both teams had more chances in the third.

Toby Enstrom's third goal of the year broke the deadlock. He slipped a slap shot passed Devan Dubnyk, who started in net for the Wild for the second straight night.

The Jets didn't hold the lead for long. Less that two-and-a-half minutes later Minnesota answered on Jason Pominville's 11th goal of the season, and second in as many nights.

Things could have gone a lot worse for the Wild. Winnipeg opened the game with a lot of pressure, but Dubnyk kept the Wild in the game with stop after stop. At one point late in the first the Jets were outshooting the Wild 15-3, but had failed to get on the scoreboard.

Dubnyk finished with 32 saves on 34 shots.

The Wild are now two points out of the final wildcard spot in the Western Conference. They return to St. Paul to face Florida on Thursday.
