The Minnesota Timberwolves have found a creative way to get the attention of NBA post-season award voters.

The Wolves have sent Andrew Wiggins socks to the voters who will pick this year's NBA Rookie of the Year.

The blue and black socks feature an image of Wiggins dunking and the packaging reads:

"Dynamic rookie Andrew Wiggins has knocked your socks off all season long with his standout numbers and electrifying moves. Here's a fresh pair on us."

Wiggins was once considered the runaway winner of the Rookie of the Year Award. He won four consecutive NBA Rookie of the Month awards and holds a big lead over all other rookies in scoring, averaging 16.5 points per game. Wiggins also averages 35.8 minutes per game – far more than any other first-year player in the NBA this season.

Wiggins was the first overall pick in last summer's draft. The Wolves acquired him in the Kevin Love trade.

One of those 'knock your socks off moments' came in last week's game against the Utah Jazz, when Wiggins dunked on Utah center Rudy Gobert repeatedly.

But it looks like a few other rookies have closed the gap on Wiggins as the season has gone on.

The Pioneer Press notes that Wiggins has faced late-season challenges from Philadelphia's Nerlens Noel and Chicago's Nikola Mirotic, who has become a key contributor on the contending Bulls.
