After an eight day layoff from preseason basketball, the Wolves didn't miss a beat, pounding the Kevin Garnett-less Celtics in Montreal 104-89.

Tonight's game, part of the NBA Canada Series, was Minnesota's first against Boston since former Timberwolf Kevin Garnett was traded to New Jersey this offseason. The Wolves traded Garnett to Boston in 2007, where he won his only championship.

Those that were on the court included Wolves guard Kevin Martin, who missed the Wolves previous two games with a sore achilles. Martin said during the week that he was fine, with head coach Rick Adelman saying Martin was practicing without restriction.

Adelman also stated that Martin would be featured more in the Wolves offense than he was in Oklahoma City, and tonight was a preview of that, with Martin putting up a team-high 16 shots while scoring 21 points and grabbing five rebounds.

Kevin Love led all scorers with 22 points and nine rebounds in 33 minutes.

For Boston, former University of Minnesota and pop culture star Kris Humphries came off the bench and scored nine, while Minneapolis North product Kammron Taylor played three minutes for the Celtics, draining two free throws.
