Love, Pekovic overpower Portland as Wolves roll to big win

A dominating first half led the Wolves to a big win over the Portland Trail Blazers, 120-109 Wednesday night at Target Center.

The Blazers (22-5) owned the best record in the NBA coming in to the game. The win puts the Wolves back at .500 (13-13).

Kevin Love finished with 29 points, 15 rebounds and nine assists. Love had 17 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists in the first half alone, so it was a bit surprising that he didn't end up with his first career triple-double.

Nikola Pekovic was just as dominant. The big man finished with 30 points on 14-of-19 shooting. He added nine rebounds.

Kevin Martin, who missed Monday's loss at Boston because of a sore knee, added 22 points in 22 minutes.

Minnesota led by as many as 32 points in the first half, but reigning NBA Rookie of the Year Damian Lillard got hot in the third quarter and early fourth, trimming the deficit all the way down to 12.

Lillard finished with a game-high 36 points.
