NBA Draft: Trade offers haven't impressed Wolves' Flip Saunders

Timberwolves president of basketball operations Flip Saunders addressed the media Monday for the final time before Thursday's NBA Draft.

Now the question is what he'll do when the Wolves go on-the-clock with the No. 9 pick in the first-round.

Trading the pick to move up in the draft will be difficult, as Saunders pointed out last week in an interview on KFAN-FM 100.3.

"There's been offers," Saunders said. "Nothing's intrigued me enough to get excited about. Some things will happen over the next 48, 72 hours. Nothing's gonna really happen until the day of or the day before, when you maybe could have a better idea of where everything's going."

Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor tells the Star Tribune that Derrick Williams won't be traded unless there's a move that will make the team better.

“There are teams that have called us and asked us if we are going to trade him, but I think that everybody saw the same thing that you saw, including the coach,” Taylor said. “Once we got him out on the floor and he had a chance to play, he started to play better. We have to remember that he still a very young man and a player that has a lot of potential."

Saunders believes Williams would be a top-3 pick if he were coming out of college this year.

The Wolves wrapped up pre-draft workouts on Monday as well, as North Texas power forward Tony Mitchell was in town.
